TORONTO, ON (April 18, 2017) — Cathia Badiere has been appointed ACTRA National Director, Research, effective immediately. Reporting to Stephen Waddell, National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator, Cathia will oversee ACTRA’s collective bargaining, policy and industry research to support ACTRA’s objective of improving the working lives of Canadian professional performers.
“Cathia’s innovative analytics and research experience will be a great asset for ACTRA,” says Waddell. “With adaptation to change being critical in today’s entertainment environment, and ACTRA’s critical role in shaping the future of our industry, Cathia’s skills and experience will be invaluable to our union.”
Cathia Badiere holds a Masters of Industrial Relations, as well as a Master of Science in Business Analytics. She was one of four students in the inaugural year of the Master of Science in Business Analytics program at York University’s Schulich School of Business. Cathia held the position of Senior Research Manager at Ipsos Reid, where she managed public sector research projects and most recently, was Senior Sector Policy Advisor at the Ontario Ministry of Economic Development and Growth.
