TORONTO – Bell Media’s MuchFACT (A Foundation to Assist Canadian Talent) announced today the 25 fund recipients from the April 12, 2017 music committee meeting. With 220 applications considered, a total of $445,251 was awarded to Canadian musicians in the following categories: Music Video, Online Music Video/Project, and Digital Tools.
MuchFACT celebrated the best in Canadian music in Ottawa at THE 2017 JUNO AWARDS, sponsoring the Video of the Year category once again. MuchFACT-funded videos also account for six of the 10 finalists for the annual Prism Prize. The juried awards gala, which takes place in Toronto in May, celebrates the artistry of the modern music video in Canada. MuchFACT-funded videos in the running include: “Stadium Pow Wow” by A Tribe Called Red, directed by Kevan Funk; “It’s Okay, I Promise” by Harrison f. Clairmont the Second, directed by Scott Cudmore; “Picturing Love” by July Talk, directed by Jared Raab; “Lite Spots” by Kaytranada, directed by Martin C. Pariseau; “Sleep In The Heat” by PUP, directed by Jeremy Schaulin-Rioux; “Amerika” by Wintersleep, directed by Scott Cudmore.
